Benadryl for dessert

Just when you think you have this food allergy thing so under control it's almost not even on your radar ... this happens :(

We know he is allergic to dairy, eggs, fish and potentially cashews but it would seem some additional testing is on the agenda for our next trip to the asthma allergy clinic. 

While out celebrating his great grandma Pat's birthday at our favorite Mexican joint Conejitos we had a surprising reaction. 

He ate tortilla chips, quac, rice and beans. He's had all of these things before at home with no problem. Less than 5 minutes later ...

Poor pumpkin!! While new allergies are always possible we are really hoping it's the result of some cross contamination in the kitchen. No worries, a dose of Benadryl and cool rag later he was back to normal and enjoying the rest of the day at the beach. 

There's that porcelain complexion we love so much. 

He actually threw a bigger fit leaving the beach then the whole time his face was blotchy lol
