Rummage for Adoption

If this is your first time visiting our blog, I invite you to stay awhile. We have used this blog over the past few years to chronicle our journey to parenthood through the miracle of adoption. A journey that would not be possible without all of you.
Since many first timers have arrived here as a result of the upcoming rummage I will get right to the nitty gritty.
We are adopting again thanks largely in part to an awesome friend and beautiful expectant mother who has chosen life, adoption and us!!
The rummage is being held August 30th and 31st on Connie Circle in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. We are planning to begin at 8am however if you are an early bird please be patient as we have LOTS of items to get ready :). Everything for sale was donated by friends, family and devoted followers of our blog. We are SO blessed.
All of the proceeds will be put toward our adoption expenses this November.
Here is a sneak peek of what is being offered. Please keep in mind this is only a small fraction of what we have.
We plan to open tomorrow rain or shine but lets all say an extra prayer for lots of shine and no rain :)

Did you hear it?

At approximately 1am this morning my heart burst. Did you hear it?
We have been struggling with sleep at night lately and after having his ears checked, his body adjusted, teething tablets, etc we aren't real sure what to do other than just be there for him.
But as many of you know parents need sleep too and you can only spend so many hours hunched over a crib giving back rubs without single handedly putting the children of your chiropractor through college.
So last night we compromised ...
He can't come in bed with us because our bed is too high off the ground and he moves Iike crazy in his sleep. Sleeping in our bed is also a habit we don't want to create.
I placed him next to me on the air mattress and hoped he would settle in. I generally can't sleep with anyone touching me so when I thought he was asleep I started to roll away.
Never opening his eyes he grabbed my shirt in the front and pulled me back. He then wrapped his arm around to the back of my neck, pulled my face until we were touching nose to nose and held me there until he was sound asleep and snoring.
MY. HEART. BURST.
Tears streamed down my face and I could not believe how adoption has forever changed my life.
I am still on cloud 9 this morning.

Is Bling your thing?

Sadly this is the final week of our Premier Jewelry fund raiser.
If you are not local or rummages aren't your thing, this is a great way to help us reach our goal while doing a little something nice for yourself in the process.
A little something to get you extra compliments in the workplace?
The perfect piece to help you accessorize for date night?
Or perhaps a gift for someone who means the world to you.
Whatever the occasion I am certain Premier has the perfect piece.
This fund raiser was such a generous offering from the friend who made this entire connection possible.  We would love to see it become a huge success.
To browse the catalog or place an order please visit our fund raiser page on Facebook using this link.
A huge thank you to everyone that has helped support our journey thus far.  Without your help and generosity our growing family would not be possible.  We love you and God bless you!

Oh Boy ... or Girl?

Now that everyone knows where our littlest blessing is currently cooking away until November we've covered all the important details right?
Oh wait ... You want to know if we know the gender?
If Luke is getting a baby sister or brother?
Hmm ... seem like a good time for another guessing game!
Let us know what you think by leaving a comment here or on our Facebook page and then wait for the reveal to see if you were right ;)

A Sneeze?!

It all started with a sneeze. Well two sneezes in a row actually. And can I just say summer colds should not be possible. Like ever.
I should have known when Luke fell asleep like this (all by himself) while mom and dad were eating dinner that something was up.
But crunchy mama has got this!
This guy. Everywhere and on everything. It's being diffused in my entire house and rubbed on the bottoms of our feet. Socks in summer are where it's at 😉
These guys! As often as the box allows!
And this cocktail concoction on our chests to help with congestion.
Please cross your fingers and toes that the all natural approach has us feeling better in no time :)
Because being sick in summer is no fun and mouth breathing is not sexy 😳
