Let it snow

I'm probably in the minority here but I love that the first snowfall of the season was a measurable amount. And so did 2/3 of our kiddos!
This tiny Texas transplant was not impressed. AT ALL.
Hard to tell if it was the snow, or the cold, or the fact that he can't move in his snowsuit 😉
Our toddlers on the other hand had a blast!
It took some serious negotiating to get them to wait for mom and dad to fully wake up before venturing outside.
And let me tell you getting 3 kids dressed for a winter wonderland without anyone melting down (literally and figuratively) before we make it outside is NOT easy.
Today wasn't too shabby but I think we will be tweaking the routine a bit as we go.
And I can happily report that while still not thrilled, the entire adventure did not involve tears for Joshy.
Until next time 😘

Three under three

Three under three has been our new reality since mid August.
How would I describe being a full time mommy to three under three? It's a 24/7 circus but it's my circus and I love each of my clowns.
It's loud ... Like learn to tune out what isn't necessary for your own sanity, loud.
It's messy ... Like category 5, someone call FEMA messy at any given time during the day.
It's smelly ... I change a lot of poop, like a diaper genie refill a day kind of poop. January brings potty training boot camp for the toddlers.
It's educational ... I am fluent in two different dialects of toddler speak as well as a third form of baby babble.
It's body boot camp ... I've got straight cardio, weight lifting, aerobics, resistance training, and more all built into just about every hour of my day.
It's time management ... They all nap at the same time so I have one hour and thirty minutes each day to be productive.
It's negotiating and peace keeping ... How about we trade toys instead of taking them and what if we try just one bite?
It's humbling ... Did I shower this week? Maybe I should brush my teeth before dinner.
It's teamwork ... The bedtime assembly line is a force to be reckoned with.
It's everything we had hoped for and more ... Can you believe this time 3 years ago our home was empty and our hearts were broken? Now we have 3 times the fun and love!
God answered our prayers in a BIG way.
Stay tuned for more crazy adventures.

O.N.E.

How has it been a year since this magical moment?!
How is it that this guy is one already?!
I feel like it was just yesterday that I was sitting in this waiting room.
Joshua has been such a light in our lives. He is honestly the most even tempered, good natured, patient, sweet southern soul.
He's just beginning to really find his independence and explore all of his siblings toys.
He's expressing his likes and dislikes pretty clearly these days.
He makes cute silly faces to make us laugh and smile with him.
He looks to his big brother for approval on all things new and scary.
He wasn't a huge fan of being sung Happy Birthday by an entire house full of people.
And now he's ONE.
Happy World Adoption Day everyone!
