Lone Star State

We decided on Monday that Tuesday afternoon we were going to leave and drive roughly 18 hours in the car to take Joshua back to Texas to visit his birth family.
Getting on the road proved to be a little hectic so I don't have a before picture. But once we got settled the ride was pretty spectacular.
We got to see the St. Louis arch at night.
The kids hardly slept but we're so well behaved watching their movies. Lucas decided he would not go potty in his diaper in the car so we made several gas station pit stops. Here he is having a 4am parking lot dance party with Daddy.
There was lots of midnight snacking.
And eventfully a little sleep before the sun started coming up.
We stopped for breakfast in Oklahoma and the kids got spoiled rotten.
The employees brought them toys and cookies!
Finally we made it to Texas ❤️
The kids had so much fun on our trip. We went to the Dallas Aquarium ...
We got to spend lots of time with our good friend Liam and his family ...
And made a few new friends ;)
Mommy got to fill her Braums sundae craving ...
And when the sun came out these Wisconsin kids didn't know what to do with themselves!
Yes that's a tan line on girlie bug's foot!
Boys and their dirt.
Most importantly Joshua got to spend time playing with his birth mom, biological sister and grandparents. Open adoption is so amazing.
We only wish we could have stayed longer.
On the way home, a beautiful double rainbow to complete the trip. My phone camera doesn't do it justice.
Thank you to our sweet friends the Nances for being willing to have a house full of 4 adults and 6 kids under 3 for an extended weekend. We love you guys.
Until next time Texas.
